Background jobs run in a Codex subprocess and don’t block your Claude Code session. When complete, the result is available via /codex:jobs result.

Tips for Getting the Most Out of the Plugin

  1. Use adversarial review before every significant PR — treat it as a required step, not an optional one
  2. Don’t treat Codex as an oracle — both models make mistakes; disagreement between them is a signal to look closer, not a verdict
  3. Background jobs work best for bounded tasks — “refactor this module” works well; “rewrite the entire codebase” will produce garbage
  4. Review the plugin’s permissions — it needs filesystem read access to your project; verify it doesn’t have write access unless you want it to make changes directly
