# Max and Team plans get monthly Claude Platform API credits

> Max 5x includes $100 and Max 20x includes $200 in monthly Claude Platform credits. Team seat credits are pooled and capped at $500, separate from Claude and Claude Code limits.

Anthropic is rolling out monthly Claude Platform credits for Max and Team plans, so subscribers can spend on the API without buying credits first. The grant does not change Claude or Claude Code limits, and it does not follow usage onto other clouds.

@ClaudeDevs announced the amounts on October 7, 2026: $100 a month on Max 5x, $200 on Max 20x, and a pooled Team balance of up to $500. The credit works on any available Claude model, including Haiku 5.5, in your own code or in third-party harnesses.

## Who can claim it

Free, Pro, and Enterprise plans are not eligible. Max and Team are, including discounted nonprofit and scientist Team plans, if the subscription is active and in good standing. New subscribers can claim only after seven days. No card on the Claude Platform is required to claim or spend the credit. Plans bought on iOS or Android qualify, but the claim happens on claude.ai in a browser. The offer is rolling out over a few days, so it may not be visible yet.

Team credits are per seat, then pooled and capped at $500. Standard seats are $20 and Premium seats are $100, on discounted plans as well. The pool is calculated from the seats on the plan when the credits are granted. In the help center's example, three Standard seats and two Premium seats receive $260 a month, and another Premium seat would raise the next cycle to $360.

The person who links a single Console organization — the Max subscriber, or a Team Primary Owner or Owner — must also have the Owner, Admin, or Billing role in that organization. Each organization can receive credits from only one plan. You cannot change the linked organization yourself.

## What the credit pays for

It covers the Messages API, the Message Batches API, the Console Playground, Claude Managed Agents, and the Claude Agent SDK. It does not cover interactive Claude Code in the terminal, IDE, desktop, or web; extra usage in Claude, Claude Code, or Claude Cowork; or Claude on Amazon Bedrock, Google Cloud Vertex AI, or Microsoft Foundry.

`claude -p` and the Agent SDK draw on the credit only when run with an API key from the linked organization, because that usage is billed as Agent SDK usage. Signed in with the plan instead, those runs still use plan limits. The Claude Code GitHub Action, IDE extensions, and the desktop app count as Claude Code usage even with `-p`.

New credits arrive shortly after the plan payment each billing cycle, including monthly on annual plans, and unused credits expire. They are spent before purchased credits and shared by everyone with an API key in the linked organization. They do not change usage limits in Claude, Claude Code, or Claude Cowork. When the grant runs out, API requests stop unless the organization has purchased credits, auto-reload, or invoicing through Anthropic sales. Usage is never charged to the Claude plan. Team owners can set workspace spend limits in the Console to restrict who draws on the pool.

Canceling, downgrading to an ineligible plan, or a refund stops new credits. Credits already issued stay usable until they expire. Upgrading from Max 5x to Max 20x brings prorated credits right away, then $200 each cycle. Moving from Max to Team ends the Max link; a Team owner can claim once the Team plan has been active for seven days. This is not the Agent SDK credit announced in June. Anthropic says that credit is not available.

Open Billing on claude.ai after seven days on an eligible plan, and read the help center article before you link an organization. Review the supplemental credit terms in the claim flow, and pick the Console organization you intend to build in. Support has to move the link if you choose the wrong one.
