# Codex's 28-day ship-or-reset sprint opens with a faster default and free Auto-review

> A 28-day ship-or-reset pledge for Codex and Work users opened with a faster default for GPT-6 models and a free Auto-review path for ChatGPT sign-in.

Tibo (@thsottiaux) put a public clock on Codex and Work shipping. On Oct. 4, 2026, the account said that for the next 28 days, each day would bring one clear improvement relevant to most Codex and Work users, or a full reset. The post does not say what that reset covers.

Two labeled ships followed.

On Oct. 5, marked Day 1, Tibo said default speed had been optimized to be about 50 percent faster for GPT-6 Astra and GPT-6.1 Sol, through the subscription, across the account's products and partners using Sign in with ChatGPT. Named partners include OpenCode, Pi, Amp, and Devin, among others. The post says no changes are needed on the user's end. The "~50%" figure is the account's own description of a default-path change, not an independent benchmark.

On Oct. 6, marked Day 2.1, Tibo said Auto-review is now free for all users signed in through a ChatGPT account. Turn it on under settings, then permissions, then auto-review. The post says Auto-review improves on the default sandbox setting, which requires you to approve everything and is prone to decision fatigue. It does not say whether Auto-review draws plan usage.

The New Stack published a related piece on Oct. 5, 2026, by Amanda Caswell, under the headline "Developers are secretly hoping OpenAI fails to ship this month." The sprint details above come from the posts, not from that headline.

If you are signed in with a ChatGPT account, open settings, then permissions, then auto-review. Follow @thsottiaux for the rest of the 28-day window, and read the Oct. 4 post before treating "full reset" as a defined usage rule.
