# CrowdStrike puts Falcon Guardian inside Claude Cowork

> CrowdStrike is running Falcon Guardian inside Claude Cowork's VM, in beta on macOS, with Windows support expected later in November.

CrowdStrike is running a Falcon sensor inside the virtual machine where Claude Cowork executes code, a different control point from the endpoint sensor on the host.

On November 3, 2026, at Fal.Con Europe 2026 in Barcelona, CrowdStrike said it is bringing Falcon Guardian AI Detection and Response natively into Anthropic's Claude Cowork. Built in partnership with Anthropic in response to enterprise customer demand, the integration extends Falcon protection from agent creation through job execution under the Falcon platform's enterprise security control plane. The company's own account posted the same day that it is bringing Falcon Guardian AIDR into Claude Cowork, from creation through execution.

## What the host cannot see

When Cowork executes code locally, it runs inside an isolated virtual machine on the user's computer. On the host, that VM is a single opaque process. The processes the agent spawns, the packages it installs, and the network connections it makes are not visible to the host's endpoint security sensor. Because host folders can be mounted into the VM, sensitive data can sit within the agent's reach.

CrowdStrike says the integration runs the Falcon sensor directly inside the Cowork VM on macOS and Windows. The VM runs the same Linux environment on both, and the Falcon Linux sensor deploys inside it. Customers can deploy that sensor through existing device management, the same way they deploy the Falcon sensor today, and control it from the Falcon platform, alongside Cowork's virtual machine, permissions, and admin controls. Anthropic enabled Falcon deployment within Cowork. CrowdStrike engineered and tested the integration.

## Beta on macOS, Windows still ahead

The integration is available in beta on macOS. Windows support is expected later in November 2026. The work is focused on visibility and detection inside the VM, so process, package, and network activity will no longer be a blind spot. Unreleased services and features are still in development and subject to change. CrowdStrike says customers should make purchase decisions based on features that are currently available.

The blog's example is a scenario, not a confirmed incident. A user asks Cowork for a script to align slides to a brand standard. The agent installs the latest version of a common Python package an adversary has compromised at the source. The package reads host data through a mounted folder and sends it to a known malicious endpoint. CrowdStrike says the sensor inside the VM would detect it.

That is the gap host-only security cannot see into. On macOS, the inside-the-VM view is a beta. On Windows, support is expected, not shipping.

Read CrowdStrike's product blog before you plan a rollout. It is the source for sensor placement, the Linux sensor path, and the macOS beta. Do not treat Windows support as available until the company says it has shipped.
