# GPT-Rosalind leaves research preview for trusted-access API, Codex, and ChatGPT Enterprise

OpenAI has moved GPT-Rosalind out of research preview for eligible organizations worldwide. The September 11, 2026 notice is an access and commercial-terms update, not a new model launch.

OpenAI first introduced the specialized life-sciences model on April 16, 2026 as a trusted-access research preview. A banner added to that post—and repeated on a June capabilities page—says GPT-Rosalind is coming out of research preview and is now available globally to eligible organizations through the trusted-access program. @OpenAIDevs named the surfaces in plain terms: “out of research preview for eligible organizations worldwide, with trusted access through the API, Codex, and ChatGPT Enterprise.” Eligible organizations keep receiving newer Rosalind models as they ship.

The model is still gated. Qualification, governance, and misuse controls remain in place. OpenAI’s pricing documentation limits access to approved internal research through the trusted-access program. This is not a ChatGPT Plus or Pro picker, and organizations outside the program still cannot self-serve the model.

Published pricing takes effect October 5, 2026. On the standard API pricing page, `gpt-rosalind-research` is $5.00 per 1M input tokens, $0.50 per 1M cached input tokens, and $25.00 per 1M output tokens. Cache-write pricing does not apply. Billing for the model begins on that date.

For life-sciences teams already in the gated program, the change is a global eligibility frame and a published rate card. For everyone else, GPT-Rosalind stays behind trusted access.

If you already have access, review the official GPT-Rosalind rates before October 5 and confirm whether your team will use the API, Codex, or ChatGPT Enterprise. If you do not, the path is still OpenAI’s qualification and safety review—not a self-serve toggle.
