# Robinhood puts trading agents inside the app

> Robinhood puts in-app trading agents in customers' hands, with dedicated accounts, default trade approvals, and Loops still coming soon.

Robinhood is moving agentic trading into the app itself. The boundaries it is putting in front of customers are a separate account and a trade approval that starts switched on.

On September 29, 2026, live from HOOD Summit at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, Robinhood announced Robinhood Agents, a fully embedded AI experience that can analyze the market, build strategies, and trade on a customer's behalf. Agent Apps, announced with it, add institutional-grade data and specialized tools from third-party providers. That night @RobinhoodApp introduced the product as something a customer could build inside Robinhood, in a few taps, with no technical setup required.

This is a different product from the May launch. That one let customers connect their own third-party agents. Robinhood says that since then, more than 150,000 customers have opened agentic trading accounts, and agents use its tools almost 30 million times a day. Those figures describe the external-agent setup, not adoption of the new in-app builder. The Robinhood Trading MCP it launched this summer is still there for customers who want to connect an outside agent. The Agents page also says those external agents can be monitored in the app alongside Robinhood Agents. The in-app product is the new option, and the company says no separate linking is required.

Setup, as the newsroom described it, is a name, a dedicated agentic account, and a model from several leading AI labs, including OpenAI. Usage of OpenAI GPT-Luna is free until the end of the year. The newsroom does not name the other models. The agent is supposed to trade within the strategy and limits the customer sets.

The fund limit is explicit. An agent can use only the money in the dedicated agentic trading account. On the Agents page, Robinhood calls that a separate account you fund, then use to track the agent's activity.

Trade approval is the other default. The setting is shown during setup, starts on, and can be changed at any time. With approvals on, the agent cannot place an order until you approve it. Turn them off, and it can place orders without asking you to confirm each one. Crypto trade approvals must be enabled in Connecticut, New York, and California.

Robinhood Labs, LLC provides the agent technology. The newsroom is explicit that Labs is not a broker-dealer, investment adviser, futures commission merchant, or money transmitter. It does not give investment advice, and it does not hold customer funds or securities or execute transactions. Brokerage, cryptocurrency, futures, and derivatives services are provided by the applicable registered Robinhood affiliates. Customers assume the risk of trades an AI agent executes, and of any use of their data by third-party LLM providers. Robinhood says it does not control, supervise, monitor, recommend, or audit the agents.

Loops are not live. The September 29 post describes them as standing instructions an agent would execute on repeat: check the market every morning and trade when conditions are met, or run a continuous overnight strategy, with the ability to turn a Loop off. The Agents page still says coming soon, and tells customers they will be able to set an agent to research and trade continuously or on a schedule. On September 30, @RobinhoodApp said Agents are here and mentioned Loops in the same line. That post does not change the product-page label. Unattended, scheduled strategies should not be treated as available. The newsroom has already published a Loops risk note: once activated, a Loop may place, modify, or cancel trades without prompting on each one, including while you are asleep or away from the device, and pausing it does not automatically reverse orders already placed.

What "available" means also shifted in a day, and these sources do not fully settle it. The newsroom said Robinhood Agents and Agent Apps were coming soon to eligible U.S. customers. The next day @RobinhoodApp said Agents are here, and that you can spin one up in under a minute. The Agents page now links to building an agent, and that link requires at least app version 2026.39.0 on iOS and Android. Nothing in these pages lists eligibility beyond that version requirement and the earlier line about eligible U.S. customers.

Agent Apps are the add-on data layer. By default, an in-app agent can already use the market data sources in the Trading MCP and the customer's portfolio. Apps add subscriptions from 11 companies, each with a one-month free trial, in the app at launch or shortly after. Named prices include Options Trader by Unusual Whales at $30 a month; Investor Intelligence by Nasdaq, Options Edge by SpotGamma, Market Interpreter by Wendy, Government Tracking by Quiver Quantitative, and Crypto Fundamentals by Token Terminal at $10; Weather Trader by Visual Crossing at $5; and ChatterFlow Viral Stocks Detector by Narravance at $8. Satellite Intelligence by SkyFi, plus Carbon Arc and Fiscal.ai, were marked coming soon.

"Ownership doesn't work without markets, and markets don't work without traders," CEO Vlad Tenev said, framing the summit as a way to deliver tools once reserved for hedge funds, big banks, and quant firms. Abhishek Fatehpuria, VP of product management, said that "with safety and security at its core," Robinhood was "setting the standard for what agentic finance can be." The parts a customer can check are narrower: a dedicated account, an approval switch that defaults to on, and a repeating-instruction feature still labeled coming soon.

If you are an eligible U.S. customer, open the Robinhood Agents page and confirm the app is on at least version 2026.39.0 before you try to build one. Read the dedicated-account rules, the trade-approval default, and the Labs disclosures before you fund the account. Leave Loops out of the plan until Robinhood marks them available.
