# Claude Duet opens beside Grok Bot logins and two Claude Code exits

> 18–24 Oct 2026

X Post Facto is our weekly pause on the feed: a look back at the AI posts that stood out, what they said, and why they’re worth a closer read.

The posts kept from 18–24 Oct 2026 keep circling one question: what is an agent once you stop typing? Claude opened a research preview of an app that keeps working after you step away. Grok Bot said it can save logins, cards, and contact information. 1Password announced an agents platform, building with a list that includes SpaceX Super Intelligence Grok @Bot and Claude. In posts dated 24 Oct, two people who had worked on Claude Code said they had left Anthropic. Around those poles sat a keynote demo about asking an agent to build an agent, a counted overlap between Codex and Claude Code, and a prompt that names memory leaks, connection pools, and race conditions.

## Comes to you, then checks

On 21 Oct, [Claude](https://x.com/i/status/2112984664256241837) wrote, "We’re opening a research preview of Claude Duet, a new app where Claude works as a proactive agent." The rest of the post is the job. It comes to you with what needs your attention, completes tasks you ask of it, keeps working when you step away, and checks with you before it acts on your behalf.

The tension is the point. Momentum, and a check, in the same product sentence. Make the check earn the autonomy, or the autonomy is just a chat that refuses to close.

## Two notes from the Claude Code bench

[Thariq](https://x.com/i/status/2113844051938054167), in a post dated 24 Oct, wrote, "I’ve left Anthropic after more than a year of working on Claude Code and seeing it scale larger than I ever imagined." He added, "I have really loved working at Ant and believe deeply in the mission, and most of all, the idea of a race to the top."

[Anthony Morris](https://x.com/i/status/2113972174524674247), also dated 24 Oct, wrote, "Yesterday was my last day at Anthropic." He added, "I created Claude Code on desktop because I believe everyone can be a builder." "Every feature request and bug report we got from this community was a gift that impacted millions of lives."

One of them watched the tool scale past what he imagined and still believes in a race to the top. The other ties a desktop app to the belief that everyone can be a builder, and is grateful for the feature requests and bug reports that, in his telling, impacted millions of lives. Warm notes, not obituaries. In their telling, the bench got large. The people writing the notes are the ones stepping off.

## A chat that stops, a bot that remembers

[Texas Twins Dad](https://x.com/i/status/2111838557329326421) was already "building Grok Bot class for very first time users." His parents understand what Grok is. They have no idea how Grok Bot is different from Grok. The distinction he spells out is the chat box: "Grok is a chat box. You type a question, it types an answer. When you close it, it stops."

The class is for people who do not yet see that difference. A tool you visit is one that ends when the window does.

On 23 Oct, [Grok Bot](https://x.com/i/status/2113717946019397910) posted a feature that lives outside that sentence. "Grok Bot can now save your logins, cards, and contact information." Add them once, "and Bot securely remembers them for the future." Remembering a card for the future is a different product from a window that stops.

The day before, [1Password](https://x.com/i/status/2113276767582498943) announced a "1Password for Agents platform," building with Muse, SpaceX Super Intelligence Grok @Bot, Anthropic’s Claude, OpenAI, TownAI, Browserbase, Browser_use, heydana_ai, Instinct, usekernel, Perplexity_ai, tryramp, Tomo, and wajo_ai. The post is a list of who they are building with, and the list is the news. SpaceX Super Intelligence Grok @Bot and Claude are on it, the same week Grok Bot said it can remember a card. That leaves one practical question: who holds the login once the chat is no longer the whole product.

## One prompt, then the agent

[Nous Research](https://x.com/i/status/2113010017645244623) wrote that Jensen closed his GTC Berlin 2026 keynote with a Hermes Agent demo as the finale. "He introduced it by saying the way to build an agent is to ask an agent to build it for you, so he installed and set up a customized Hermes in one prompt." The post says he then used Hermes.

One prompt as the install is either a clean statement of the thesis or a very smooth way around the hour where setup usually hurts. The appeal is the method itself: not a kit you assemble by hand, a request you make.

## The overlap, with its denominator

[Theo](https://x.com/i/status/2112035326625730981) had a figure, then a bigger line. For the last two weeks, "over 60% of T3 Code users who used Codex also used Claude Code as well." He followed it with "The majority of Codex users are Claude Code users."

Keep the first line. The 60% is T3 Code users who used Codex, not every Codex user anywhere. The second sentence widens the claim. Even inside the fence he actually counted, it is an awkward result if you were hoping a second tool meant the first one lost. In that slice, Codex mostly showed up beside Claude Code. Overlap is what the number shows.

## Memory leaks, pools, and races

[Vineer](https://x.com/i/status/2113609692421513306) saw someone telling Claude Code to consider memory leaks, connection pools, and race conditions. "This dude is not getting replaced by AI."

The joke lands on the list, not the typing. Those three are worth naming only if you already know they are the right things to name. The agent can chase a list. Someone still has to know it is the right list. That is the part of the job the anecdote actually catches.

## A mission about raising in SF

[levelsio](https://x.com/i/status/2112686345617547538) asked Claude Code to make "a new GTA: San Andreas mission where CJ has to vibe code a startup and then raise money from investors in SF."

Leave the laugh where it is. After agents that keep working, remember cards, and get installed in a prompt, the week's most specific request is a fundraising scene dropped into San Andreas. The prompt is the whole post.

If you open three, start with Claude's [Duet preview](https://x.com/i/status/2112984664256241837), Thariq's [note on leaving](https://x.com/i/status/2113844051938054167), and Grok Bot's [login post](https://x.com/i/status/2113717946019397910). Then read 1Password's [announcement](https://x.com/i/status/2113276767582498943) if you are the person who has to decide where an agent's card number lives.
