Anthropic says Claude Models on Google Cloud (Anthropic managed) is generally available. Google Cloud customers get the full set of Claude Platform features, with Google Cloud IAM credentials, billing on a single Google Cloud invoice, and usage that draws down an existing Google Cloud commitment. Anthropic operates the service and acts as the data processor.
This is the Anthropic-managed path, not the Google-managed offering that remains on Google Cloud. New features and betas ship the same day they go live on the native Claude Platform. Anthropic describes that as day-zero access and full Claude Platform feature parity for customers who want Claude through Google Cloud.
What is included
Endpoints are currently US and Global. Available models are Claude Fable 5.1, Opus 5.5, Sonnet 5.5, and Haiku 5.5, and new models ship on this offering as they launch. Customers also get the Claude Console, for writing prompts, configuring agents, running them on hosted environments, monitoring usage and costs, and managing access and security per workspace.
Agent features on the list:
- Claude Managed Agents (beta), for long-running agents without managing infrastructure
- Code execution, to run Python, create visualizations, and analyze data inside an API call
- Computer use, so Claude can operate a browser or desktop to complete tasks
- Agent skills, to teach Claude repeatable workflows
- Advisor strategy (beta), so an agent can consult an advisor model
Also included are the Files API, citations, web search, web fetch, the MCP connector (beta), prompt caching, and batch processing.
Fast mode for Claude Opus 5.5 is generally available on this path. Anthropic says it prioritizes speed, offering up to 2.5x faster output-token generation for rapid iteration, live debugging, and interactive agents. Input tokens are $8 per million and output tokens are $40 per million.
The Google-managed alternative
The Google-managed offering remains the better fit, Anthropic says, when Google Cloud must be the data processor, when regional data residency requirements are strict, or when teams want native integrations such as Model Armor or Agent Engine.
Arvind Sundararajan, CTO at Abacus.AI, said the team gets the native Claude API with Google Cloud as the access layer, and that day-one access is important. Existing IAM and commitment drawdown, he said, made it an easy decision. Maksim Gorev, head of AI engineering at Triple Whale, said Moby, its AI harness for ecommerce brands, runs on the same Claude API through Google Cloud, and that prompt caching stayed in place while billing and access ran through Google Cloud.
