Cloudflare's October 10, 2026 changelog says the Cloudflare API MCP server now serves Cloudflare skills through the Skills over MCP extension. The change applies to MCP clients that support the extension, not to every client that can open an MCP connection.
Supporting clients discover the skills with skills/list and read their files at skill://<name>/<path>. To use them, add https://mcp.cloudflare.com/mcp to a client that supports the extension. The changelog points to the Cloudflare skills repository, the Skills over MCP extension overview, and a client matrix for extension support. The post itself does not name those clients.
The endpoint is the existing Cloudflare API MCP server. Documentation last updated October 10, 2026 still describes it as search() and execute() over the Cloudflare API — over 2,500 endpoints across DNS, Workers, R2, Zero Trust, and every other product. When you connect, you are redirected to Cloudflare to authorize via OAuth and select the permissions to grant. For CI/CD or automation, the same page says you can pass a Cloudflare API token as a bearer token in the Authorization header. Both user tokens and account tokens are supported.
That is a different path from the Cloudflare Skills plugin documented on the same page. The plugin bundles Cloudflare MCP servers with contextual skills and slash commands for agents that support the Agent Skills standard, including Claude Code, OpenCode, OpenAI Codex, and Pi. The page also covers a Cursor Marketplace install, a manual remote rule from GitHub, an npx skills install from the skills repository, and copying skill folders into a client-specific directory. Those steps install skills into the agent. The October 10 changelog is the MCP extension path: a supporting client lists and reads Cloudflare skills from the API server.
The changelog does not say how many skills the server exposes. If a client does not implement the extension, nothing in the post indicates that skills/list will work there.
Add https://mcp.cloudflare.com/mcp only on a client that supports Skills over MCP, then call skills/list. If yours does not, use the plugin or folder-copy steps on Cloudflare's MCP server docs instead of expecting the API endpoint to list skills.
