Google Labs turns CC into a shared household agent with its own Google account for up to six U.S. adults, plus a daily brief and waitlist.

Google Labs has expanded CC into a family and household agent. Announced September 17, 2026, the experiment is no longer a single-user daily brief. Up to six people can now share one agent that has its own verified Google Account — a distinct identity, with a permissions model personal Gmail briefs never needed.
Google says CC only responds to group members and will not take action or share information outside the group without permission. Each member chooses what the agent can see, such as emails from a child’s school, the local swim center, or the vet, and can change those settings at any time. Frequent senders can be auto-shared; every week, each person also gets a private list of new senders to approve. One-off items — a photo of a birthday invite, a soccer schedule — can go to CC by email or Google Chat. Drive folders, files, and calendars can be shared with it directly.
Each morning the group gets a shared “Your Day Ahead” brief covering who needs to be where, what still needs doing, and what CC already finished. The agent can keep a family Calendar and Tasks list current, pre-fill permission slips and registration PDFs, draft school-supply lists and weekly meal plans, check live drive times through the Google Maps API, and create shared Docs and Sheets. Household facts (a grocery list, favorite restaurants) go into shared memory; personal details such as dietary preferences stay individual.
Tom Shane, senior product manager at Google Labs, wrote that helping run a busy home was one of the top requests after the original personal CC, which Google later brought to the Gemini app as Daily Brief. Each CC instance runs on an isolated cloud computer using Google’s Antigravity agentic harness and the latest Gemini models.
This remains an early Labs experiment on web and mobile, for people 18 and older in the United States with a personal Google account — not a global Gemini default. Existing users should receive an upgrade email in the coming days. Everyone else can join the waitlist.
