On October 3, 2026, grok.com’s release notes changed which model sits behind two site modes, and who can keep Grok Bot threads in the browser. Grok 4.7, called in the notes “our most capable model for coding and knowledge work,” now powers Expert mode on grok.com and Fast mode for paid subscribers. The notes link to a Grok 4.7 announcement rather than spelling out a new model release on the page.

The same entry opens Grok Bot on grok.com to SuperGrok Plus subscribers as well as SuperGrok Heavy. Bots appear in the sidebar’s Bots section, so you can open their threads and keep conversations going in the browser.

Web Bot access itself started earlier, and only for the higher tier. The September 19, 2026 notes said SuperGrok Heavy subscribers could use Grok Bot on grok.com. Those notes said bots run on their own machines and keep working after you leave, that you find them in the Bots section of the sidebar, and that you can chat with one directly or bring several into a group and connect the sources they need without leaving the conversation. October 3 is the widening to SuperGrok Plus, plus sidebar and approval polish.

If you already use bots on the site, the new controls are concrete. You can organize the Bots sidebar into sections: create, rename, and reorder them, collapse each one separately, and drag bots between them. Approval requests now offer Always allow, Allow once, or Deny. Long summaries are trimmed, with a toggle to view the full request. When a bot messages a Cursor Project, the conversation shows the Cursor mark and a Project badge. Click a name in the exchange dialog to open that Project or bot. The notes also mention polish on the voice-call Speed slider, the bot settings dialog, and file chips in bot replies.

The October 3 list continues with fixes across chat, connectors, automations, Imagine, Library, sharing, and account. It does not name a plan restriction for Expert mode. It does limit Fast mode to paid subscribers, without saying which paid plans. It does not describe Grok 4.7 as newly released here; it says that model now powers those two modes.

Open the October 3 notes, then check grok.com: Expert, Fast if you are a paid subscriber, and the sidebar Bots section if you are on SuperGrok Plus or SuperGrok Heavy.
