Hex-Rays posted on October 26, 2026 that IDA 9.5 is here, calling the release more platforms and more agentic power. The release notes welcome readers to the 9.5 highlights and point to installers in the Download Center of the My Hex-Rays portal.
The agent features are two new add-ons.
IDA MCP
The notes describe the IDA MCP add-on as a first-party, open-source MCP server that connects AI agents to IDA, fully locally and across multiple databases at once. The October 26 post groups it with Assist under “IDA MCP and Assist for AI-driven reverse engineering.”
IDA Assist
Assist is an AI harness for reverse engineering, built into IDA. The notes say it works with any capable AI model, local or cloud, and combines the model with IDA’s own analysis engines and emulation.
New decompilers, as context
Both the post and the notes add three decompilers:
- Dalvik decompiles Android DEX bytecode into Java pseudocode.
- TriCore, through the
hextricoreplugin, decompiles Infineon TriCore and supports theeabiandTaskingABI families. - Hexagon, through the
hexqdsp6plugin, decompiles Qualcomm Hexagon (QDSP6) DSP code.
To unlock all the new decompilers in IDA Home and IDA Ultimate 9.5, download an updated license file from the Customer Portal and replace the current one.
The post’s other highlighted item is recursive decompilation across call graphs. In the notes, File > Produce file > Create C file... (Ctrl+F5) now offers “Current function and its callees recursively.” Callees are decompiled first, from the leaves up, so each function is decompiled after the functions it calls.
Get the 9.5 installers from the Download Center, then read the MCP and Assist add-on sections in the IDA 9.5 release notes before connecting an agent to a database. If you use IDA Home or IDA Ultimate and want the new decompilers, replace the license file from the Customer Portal first.
