OpenClaw 2026.10.3, published October 13, 2026, lets Meta users select Muse Wonder and adds MiniMax M3.1 Flash Preview for eligible accounts. The model lines are the ones most people will notice. The limits are the ones worth reading twice. The same release also fixes blocked updates, preserves saved sign-ins and memory files during affected Doctor repairs, helps the Mac app connect during local setup, and lets conversations continue after compaction or an interrupted provider reply.

The release notes describe the scale as 79 pull requests, 8 direct commits, and 97 contributors. The GitHub tag for v2026.10.3 lists 90 commits, 79 pull requests, and 99 contributors.

The API supports Wonder Standard

Meta users can select Muse Wonder with text and image input and max thinking. Spark 1.3 Standard also supports max thinking and remains the setup default.

The API supports Wonder Standard. Max effort does not select Wonder Full.

MiniMax M3.1 Flash Preview

Eligible Token Plan or MiniMax Code users can select the preview and set thinking to low, medium, high, xhigh, or max. The preview defaults to max, including saved off or adaptive selections. M3 remains the default model. Missing published catalog rates do not mean free use.

Global and CN OAuth sign-ins renew expired tokens at their issuing regional account endpoint. Older saved sign-ins and region changes require one new login:

openclaw models auth login --provider minimax-portal

Updates and recovery

Updates can clear eligible leftover recovery work and archive completed update records that previously blocked the next upgrade. Already-blocked older updaters still need a manual installation or recovery step first. This release does not claim to unblock every stuck updater by itself.

An unreadable legacy auth file no longer causes the affected Doctor cleanup to discard saved OAuth profiles. Previously deleted profiles and retired credential imports are not restored. When malformed UTF-8 prevents merging MEMORY.md and the older memory.md, Doctor preserves the original bytes.

The Mac app can connect in eligible “On this Mac” setups that previously failed with “Gateway rejected auth.” If a required new token cannot be saved, setup stops with a retryable error.

After native compaction, the next message waits for saved conversation history to become readable instead of failing while that history is rebuilding. An unfinished ChatGPT reply can continue from the saved conversation when a normal connection close interrupts it, within the existing retry limits.

Read the Muse Wonder and MiniMax sections in the official release notes before you change a session default. Confirm that the API supports Wonder Standard and that max effort does not select Wonder Full, and check Token Plan or MiniMax Code eligibility before selecting the preview. If an older updater is already blocked, follow the recovery path in those notes rather than assuming 2026.10.3 clears it on its own.
