Aave ships an official MCP server for V3 and V4 agents

Aave Labs opened mcp.aave.com so MCP clients can read V3/V4 markets and prepare unsigned transactions without an API key.

Coding agents can now hit Aave through the protocol’s own Model Context Protocol server: one public endpoint for live V3 and V4 markets, health-factor previews, and unsigned transactions. No API key. No custody.

Aave Labs opened https://mcp.aave.com on 8 September 2026. Any assistant that speaks MCP can ask for a wallet’s health factor, the best stablecoin yield, or a prepared supply, and the call goes to Aave rather than training data or a third-party wrapper. Labs says it built the server so developers can connect in one line without maintaining their own bindings, learning two SDKs, or reimplementing accounting that already exists. CryptoTimes reports that independent MCP servers already read Aave positions; Aave says this first-party server is built on Aave Kit, so results carry the same math as the official interfaces, including Hub and Spoke accounting and Risk Premium.

The agent prepares. The wallet signs.

Every transaction comes back unsigned. The prepare_ tools return a transaction request or EIP-712 typed data; the user’s own wallet signs it. Aave states the server holds no keys and cannot move funds.

Transaction building covers supply, borrow, withdraw, repay, collateral toggles, eMode, rewards claims, and liquidations. A preview_action tool simulates any of them and reports the resulting health factor first. Swaps run through quote, prepare, submit, and status tools. Governance tools search proposals, return quorum status, and list voters by voting power.

Reads cover chains, markets, and reserves—with rates, caps, and risk parameters—plus time-series for APY, protocol deposits and borrows, and a wallet’s health factor. Position queries return supplies, borrows, aggregate health, claimable rewards, and history. On V4, positions carry per-position health, and Hub-level tools expose liquidity and accounting at the Liquidity Hub.

Most tools take a version argument of v3, v4, or all, with all fetching both concurrently. Aave’s agents page says the same endpoint covers V3 on 21 chains and V4 on Ethereum and Avalanche, and that a connected agent gets 40 Aave tools with no account. Compact responses cut reserve detail from roughly 17 KB to roughly 1 KB; rejected inputs return the reason verbatim so an assistant can correct its arguments.

Aave’s example is a liquidation-protection loop: tell an agent to repay USDC debt whenever health factor drops below 1.5, and it monitors the position, prepares the repayment, and waits for a signature.

Connect the official endpoint

Add https://mcp.aave.com as a custom connector in Claude or ChatGPT—ChatGPT works on any plan with connectors enabled. In Claude Code:

claude mcp add --transport http aave https://mcp.aave.com

Cursor, VS Code, Windsurf, Codex CLI, and other clients that support remote streamable HTTP connect with the URL alone.

If you are wiring an agent to Aave, connect that official endpoint, then run preview_action on a real position before you sign anything.
