Claude Docs, Slides, and Design leave beta as Dashboards and Motion stay limited

Claude Docs, Slides, and Design are generally available on every plan, while live dashboards and Motion animations stay in beta.

Anthropic took the beta label off Claude Docs, Slides, and Design on October 8, 2026, and made them available on every plan, including Free. The same day it opened two narrower betas: Claude Dashboards on paid plans, and Claude Motion on Team and Enterprise.

The split is the story. Docs, decks, and designs are now everyday shared artifacts. Live data dashboards and code-written animations are not generally available, and on Enterprise they stay off until an admin enables them.

Out of beta on every plan

Claude's account said Docs, Slides, and Design are out of beta on every plan including Free, and that a team and Claude can edit the same doc, deck, or design together. Reuters confirmed that general availability after beta testing, and confirmed the two betas.

Anthropic says people have made more than 45 million docs, decks, and designs since those tools entered Claude conversations. Most of what shipped after that came from user feedback, which is why the company is dropping the beta label.

In the product article, the practical changes are:

  • A team and Claude can work on the same doc, deck, design, or dashboard.
  • Slides, designs, dashboards, and animations can be shared outside the organization, or with anyone who has the link, if an admin allows it.
  • PowerPoint and PDF downloads are meant to match the editor, and decks can go straight to Google Slides as editable files.
  • A doc, deck, or design can be edited in the Claude mobile app.
  • Artifacts now support CMEK, and admins choose which artifact templates the organization uses.

This is Claude's own artifact suite. It is not the Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides add-on described in a separate October 6 article on the same site. Exporting a Claude deck to Google Slides as an editable file is a handoff from this release, not that connector.

Who gets Dashboards

Claude Dashboards is in beta on paid plans. Connect a data platform such as Amazon Redshift, BigQuery, ClickHouse, Databricks, or Snowflake, or a CRM such as Salesforce. It also works with other connectors. Ask in plain language. Claude pulls answers from the data, builds the dashboard, and keeps it current as the data changes.

Inspection is part of the artifact. Click any number to see the query behind it, or ask Claude to explain it. Each chart shows when its data was last refreshed. Anthropic frames the tool for quick, exploratory questions, such as how this week's signups compare with last month's, and says dashboards sit alongside BI and analytics tools.

When a question needs deeper analysis, send the dashboard from Claude to Amplitude, Grafana, Hex, Mixpanel, Omni, Perplexity, PostHog, or Sigma. Looker, monday.com, and Tableau are listed as coming soon.

Who gets Motion

Claude Motion is in beta on Team and Enterprise only. Ask Claude to turn a quarterly report into a 30-second explainer, add motion to a chart, or make a product walkthrough. The animation plays like a short video. Adjust it in the editor or ask Claude to change it, then download an MP4.

Claude writes code that animates text, charts, shapes, and images, so a word, number, or timing can be changed. It does not use a video generation model. Anthropic says there is no generated footage and no AI-generated people. Typing "/motion" in the message box brings up the option. From there, an animation can be opened in Adobe, Descript, HeyGen, Higgsfield, invideo, Luma AI, or Runway. Canva and Captions are listed as coming soon.

Reuters reported that Anthropic aimed the tools at analyzing business data and creating visual content without coding. The product page is more specific: Claude makes the first version, including the Motion code, and the user decides what gets shared and what to edit.

Enterprise defaults and the Design deadline

For Enterprise admins, Dashboards and Motion are off by default. Turn them on in Organization settings, under Artifacts. Docs, Slides, and Design turn on by default on October 15, or an admin can turn them on sooner.

Design has a separate sunset. It started at its own address, claude.ai/design, and since September 16 it also works inside every Claude conversation, where it can use context, files, and connectors. Anthropic is folding the standalone site into Claude because running two versions slows fixes for both. The standalone site stays available until December 14.

On the Artifacts page, "Migrate team design systems" brings over every design system in the organization in one migration. Originals stay unchanged in the standalone version until it closes. Projects keep working there until then and need nothing from users yet. Chats with Claude and comments on projects stay in the standalone version and will not be available after it closes. Public links to standalone projects stop working then too.

Open Claude and ask for the dashboard you usually wait on, then click a number and read the query and the last refresh before you share it. On Enterprise, try Motion only after an admin has enabled it. Downloading the MP4 is optional once the timing is right. Anyone still on the standalone Design site should migrate design systems and save chats and comments before December 14. Start with Anthropic's article, which also points to the migration guide.
