Google Workspace adds five cross-app agentic Gemini flows

Google on September 9, 2026 began rolling out five agentic Gemini flows to Workspace so you can start Slides, Sheets, mail, and briefs from Chat, Drive, Docs, or Gmail instead of bouncing between tabs. Product Manager Jill Daley described Gemini as an intelligent orchestrator that generates formatted Docs, structured Sheets, or stylized Slides while you stay on the current task — the same cross-app orchestration @GoogleWorkspace highlighted across Docs, Sheets, Slides, Gmail, Drive, and Chat.

Gemini uses Workspace Intelligence and deeper app integrations. It gathers real-time context from files, emails, and chat threads based on sources you select or an admin has enabled, then works in the background. What you get is a draft to review: a Drive file, a presentation link, or a sendable email.

The five flows

Chat to Slides: Ask Gemini in Chat to track project status and assemble a multi-slide deck from active projects, conversations, Gmail, and action items, then open the result from a direct link. The Chat flow may already ask clarifying questions, and Google says that customized-help behavior is coming soon to other Workspace surfaces that create presentations.
Drive to Sheets: Prompt Gemini inside Drive. It analyzes the open folder and other chosen sources and builds a structured spreadsheet.
Docs to Gmail: Draft a recap from inside a document, in your typical voice, then review, add recipients, and send—optionally from Docs itself.
Gmail to Docs: Synthesize long threads into an editable brief. Gmail uses Workspace Intelligence to connect the thread with related Drive files, emails, and chats, and drops a side-panel link so you never lose your place in the inbox.
Docs to branded decks: Turn a written proposal into an editable slide deck, applying brand guidelines or a slide template when referenced, saved straight to Drive.

The same capabilities will also soon power automations in Workspace Studio.

Availability is rolling out now for Business Standard, Business Plus, Enterprise Standard, and Enterprise Plus, plus Google AI Pro and Ultra personal plans and Google AI Pro for Education. Open the side panel, or try Ask Gemini in Drive. Ask Gemini in Chat is listed for the coming weeks.
